Patchwerk - No more play? || Green fartcloud monkey deaded too, thanks for the fish!

Yarr, when we went over to say hello to Patchy two weeks ago, he didn’t want to play with us. He saw us, started laughing, and fell over dead. Or not. After hours of practice our healer team succeeded in performing admirably. This fight is, in its current state the ultimate test for any healer, a fight designed just for them. Don’t believe the hype saying this fight is all about damage, it’s about the healers. Even having now killed him multiple times, the feeling of excitement and joy at his demise remains, a very rare trait for a raid boss.
Patchwerk reminds me of "Avatar of War" from Everquest. Even the designers of the fight made Patchy yell when engaged: "Kel’Thuzad make Patchwerk his Avatar of War!". Such tributes to old EQ players by current developers of World of Warcraft raidcontent make me feel happy in my heart [You heart? O'rly]. Patchy is indeed a great tribute to the defining monster of its era; the Avatar of War. AoW used to reside in Kael Drakkel, a non-instanced city of giants and a guild even attempting to kill AoW made the city come to life as people flocked to watch over the massive battle. In that sense WoW’s "Avatar" is not such an exceptional design, but as a fight it’s much more complex and dynamic. The central tenants of the fight, devastating melee dps and healer stress overload, remain the same in both Avatar designs. Good job Blizzard!

Before Grobbie we had the pleasure of play frogger! Gare died! [Lots]

Grobbie, well what can be said about him….. Grobbie could be described as a prize for killing Patchwerk. Even with a few positioning errors he quickly surrendered his loot with less of a wimper than many trash mobs.

There are three types of players a highend guild needs. Leaders, Performers and Farmers. There is one certain player who never seem to get attention on the forums and even sometimes their own guild forgets how important their contribution to the guild is. This frontpage update is dedicated to one such person, that we highly value in our little family. Camper - this update is for you.
Camper is a Umbrage mage who has contributed into our progression in the last year more than most of our own members would imagine. Here are a few screenshots showing the immense effort some farmers put into supporting their guild and selflessly donate for the benefit of others. This Patchwerk kill is dedicted to our own little unsung hero - who has supported the guild through many fights, providing the pots that can tip the balance in our favour. Camper we salute you, and offer our thanks for the effort and countless hours you have given to us.

Puppy! Sit back! Stay! Bad puppy! This puppy is no fun!

Maexxna deaded - Spider wing cleared

Hey kids! Umbrage is proud to present completition of our first wing in Naxxramas. Maexxna, or "Maxy" like we call her. Loot was good, fight was riddled with minor Line of Sight bugs, but other than that Maxy is pretty damn fun spider queen to kill.
As a guild we are still going on strong, aspiring to reach the 4 horseman and beyond before release of TBC. Infact it was a pleasant surprise to see the expansion to be pushed further down the road as it gives us time to forge forwards exploring the quite superb instance that Naxx is. With launch allready postponed to january, we would not be suprised to see TBC out in early march. Umbrage has been further strengthened from foreign lands and with the opening of cross server battlegrounds we are honoured to have been joined by experienced raiders from Emerald Dream, Doomhammer and others.

There are still some open slots in our roster as we search for the final few players to explore the rest of the content in Naxxramas. We are currently looking for two priests, two rogues, a druid and one hunter. Those interested, please check out forums on this link http://www.umbrage-guild.com/forums/vie … php?t=3408 Server transfers with a raiding guild background are naturally more than welcome. Contact Sil, Gare, or any of our officer core regarding cross server applying.
All work and no play makes Patchwerk a dull boy..
