Nefarian - ruler of the blackwing lair deaded

Wazaap everyone - after daily requests from guildmembers and random strangers to update our frontpage I decided it was time to act since something really important happened tonight. I figured out that girls rule.

Mommy doesn’t often let Umbrage peeps from their basements to see girls, but the fine women of Umbrage deserve a cheer - since our teamspeak would be a horrible place without hearing their sweet voices.
Oh and what else is on the news. Nefarian died - Time Lapse & Corrosive Acid Chromaggus has died. Infact Chromaggus has died five times already but I have not had time to update the frontpage and it has been so much fun to receive silly tells from clueless people claiming that Umbrage can’t kill Chromaggus. Thank you all for the added amusement to our guildchat.
The killing of Nefarion represents a huge effort from the guild, and it is rewarding to see the membership pull together to farm enough consumables to beat this giant wyrm. Umbrage has conquered all the other encounters to date without the use of titan flask, but here the sheer randomness of the encounter at times forced their use. Not that we didn’t try without

The Nefarian fight is to the date most awesome battle in WoW. It’s not brilliant or intresting in its design, but the brutality of the fight is just something that makes you gasp for air each time it shows its true nature. Having MT polymorphed, feared and breathed on in the same second or Corrupted Windfury totem activating and instakilling your maintank evokes so many feelings and the adrenaline pumps through your veins. Those moments remind us all why World of Warcraft is so god damn good game and hobby. Here is an example of Nefarian 1 second spike:

The fight itself is exhausting for all concerned, and for a guild to defeat it all 40 players need to be concentrating for the full duration - that is not as easy as it sounds and we are very proud of our membership for retaining focus during those last few %. A single mistake on this boss by a single person causes a raid wipe and the loss of all the pots invested in it. It is a testament to their teamwork that everyone held together to deliver our most exhilarating raid night to date.
So to the whole guild - to those in the raid for the kill, to those who helped us learn the encounter and to those who farmed or helped out in any of the other taks that were essential to our success, we salute you and are truly honoured to be leading you into AQ and facing new threats and encounters Blizzard has developed.
But for tonight "Glory to the Umblings and Umblets". An awesome effort from all concerned that has brought the head of the mightiest raid boss to Ogrimmar where his rotting head is a symbol of your resolve. Long after the head has despawned the memory of this victory will remain.

And here is the obligatory loot shots, congrats to Kätyri, Sil, Gare, Toxic and Lengleu!

Now that we can consider Black Wing Lair conquered, we shall continue our efforts towards opening the gates to AQ, and take a closer look at the outdoor encounters we neglected while we focused our efforts on mastering every fight in BWL. Currently we can push BWL up to Nefarian in a single day, so we have plenty of time on our hands to mess around with other content.
Thanks to Mythical Honour, Maligned, Velvet Glove, TAC, Conviction and others for their congratulations. We really appreciate them. Let’s keep the flag flying high and help each other to open the AQ gates for 20 and 40 man (and woman!) pleasure.
